If you happened to be a casual passer-by at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas on october 30 through november 3, we’d understand completely if you thought the event was dedicated to Japanese sport compact cars. The little imports, most with huge wings and 20-inch wheels and boom-boom stereo systems, were everywhere, on display inside and outside the Las Vegas Convention Center in all kinds of Easter egg colors. Two years ago, it was trucks; now it’s sport compacts.
     Experiencing SEMA means walking it to believe it. The annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas can be overwhelming to the senses and the feet as you stroll the over 1 million square-feet of SEMA Show displays in the huge Las Vegas Convention Center. This year, SEMA included over 1,400 booths and more than 6,000 exhibitors for the 90,000
    The General Motors’ huge SEMA display showcased the number 4 C5-R Corvette, still splattered with bugs and covered with grime from its podium finish at the Grand Prix of Las Vegas the previous weekend.
