Top: Start by removing the knob on the end of the set rod. A jeweler's screwdriver and needle-nose pliers does the trick here. Hold the rod with the pliers while removing the small screw in the center. Be careful not to loose the screw.
Bottom: Next, remove the top air vent/wiper switch unit. Marking the top of the plug for the wiper switch will be helpful when re-assembling the unit. Here's a tip. Push the lamp and washer switch wires into the vent hole for safe-keeping. This will keep them from falling behind the bezel during reinstallation.
