Springs,
there were four Corvettes in mid-restoration – a ’59, a ’67, and the pair of
‘53s that are being restored as part of Corvettes at Carlisle’s 50th
anniversary Restoration Celebration. Brand points out that most vintage Corvettes
have already been through at least a couple of restorations, not to mention
accidents, modifications, and sandblasting, which damages the fiberglass. So
by the time a Corvette rolls into CCRSC, it typically needs extensive body repairs
for a concours-slick paint-job. Bondo, as Brand emphatically states, just doesn’t
get the job done.
