Wayne
decided an original color option didn’t fit this car’s theme. Silver, being
the look of polished steel and unavailable in 1954, emphasized the total mechanical
renewal, so he went with 1959 Corvette Inca Silver, as applied by Bright.
One
other subtle modification to the exterior is difficult to spot. Notice the hood
is not from 1953-55, which is plain and flat. Wayne chose a ‘57 hood, which
has a pair of raised bumps running length-wise front to rear. They add a muscle
look and integrate well with the corresponding bumps on top of the dash.
