the hobby. This month we are aiming the celebrity spotlight on Chip Miller.
Chip is among a small handful of Corvette hobbyists who have
turned his automotive passion into a successful business. Chip was thirteen
when his love for Corvettes started to bloom. The young thirteen year old
studied every 1956 Corvette advertisement that was published. In 1962, fresh
out of college with a mechanical engineering degree, he purchased his first
Corvette. It was a wrecked white 60 that he rebuilt himself. This was
the first of a long line of 77 Corvette purchases (so far) that helped shape
Chips future.
In 1974, Chips automotive passion led him to co-produce
a single auto show with his non-related partner Bill Miller, on the rented
fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Within a few years, "Fall Carlisle"
was a complete sellout and a spring show was added in 1977. In 1981, he and
Bill bought the 70-acre Carlisle fairgrounds to accommodate their expanding
