owner of HiTech Motorsport, out of Ramsey MN. Not only was Brian willing, but
with 10 years of late-model Corvette performance work on his resume, he was
capable as well.
Typically, all the modifications to this Vette would
be done at one time. With the permission and patience of the owner, we segmented
this project into five points of interest, starting at a baseline and moving
through four stages of modifications, documenting each stage on the chassis
dyno. We felt that would be the best way to showcase what was done and how it
performed. After all, not everyone thinking about modifying their L-98 may want
to go as far as Bob did here, or at least not in one step. Your pocketbook or
your desire decide how much and when modifications are made. However, consider
yourself forewarned: Horsepower, even in small doses, can be habit forming and
leave you craving for more.
The best way to determine how well a modification performs
is to measure stock engine output first. However, before making the baseline
