The plug wires are 500-ohm low resistances, silicone jacketed, fiberglass reinforced EPDM rubber insulated for superior heat resistance and to prevent arcing and voltage leaks. They’re warranted forever. Total cost for the package should be around $150 - $175.
We preformed our ignition upgrade on a 1970 small block convertible sporting a four-speed stock gearbox. Installation was quick and easy and the results were immediately obvious. The owner, Ray Robichaud, told us, "It’s almost like we put a new motor in the car, it idles smoother, has better throttle response and acceleration You know it’s just plain fun!"
We haven’t seen a product excite both owner and installer in a long time. Vern Carmack, veteran Corvette restorer/mechanic and owner of the Chevy Service Center, who preformed the installation, was equally amazed with the results. " I couldn’t believe how well this system worked. When I first took the Ignitor out of the box I thought the guys at Pertronix forgot some of the parts. I just knew it wasn’t going to work, but sure enough we bolted it on, fired the motor up and it ran great, I didn’t even need to reset the timing.

Now remove the stock coil and replace with the flame-thrower hi-performance unit.
Now it’s time to install the Ignitor unit itself. Place it over the holes previously used to locate the points and condenser, position the unit so that the red dot (sensor pick-up) is flush with the lobe of the distributor.
