This is a close-up photo of the same #1110847 distributor in photo #3. This is a good photographic example of what can happen to an older distributor and how a Corvette restorer can be ripped off if he isn't knowledgeable. If you look closely, you can see that a dual point breaker plate has been installed incorrectly into this housing. As you can see from the charts, the #1110847 was only built with a single point breaker system from Delco-Remy. This is a perfect example of how a Corvette restorer could be taken if only using the model number to buy a distributor for his car.

Distributor Color Coding
Most distributors installed at a final engine assembly plant had a color code applied to the distributor housing. This was to enable engine assemblers to identify a distributor without reading the code number. In time, many of these paint marks wore off. Most Delco Remy blueprints call out these color codes as paint spots.

Distributor Applications
The charts on the following pages list the distributor applications for 1955-1975. All distributors are in numerical order within each model listing. Each distributor is listed by model and engine, and then further distinguished by housing type, point type and other features. Be sure to check the model years before and after your car to check for other uses. The abbreviations used in the charts are listed below.
