fond of the bodystyle and preferred his Corvettes served up clean and fresh
on American asphalt, its little wonder that Robert set out to return the
car to factory condition immediately. And we mean that literally.
"When
did I begin working on the car?" says Robert. "Twenty minutes after
I got it home."
Robert
explains, "The appearance of the car was very nice except for the ripples
and bumps of the early fiberglass body. If you see an early Corvette with a
really straight body and the owner says it has never been touched, then he is
telling fibs."
In
spite of the exquisite condition, Robert decided a frame-off restoration was
in order, and he spent the next six months reworking every aspect of the roadster
