You’ll need to have the A/C system evacuated of R12 by a certified air conditioning repair shop. Then start the disassembly by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and the A/C compressor electrical connector. Remove the air conditioning lines and hoses from the accumulator, then remove the accumulator from its mounting bracket.

   Disconnect the A/C line from the condenser. Always use 2 wrenches to remove this type of line to prevent kinking.
