the surprise of some, the raising of highway speed limits has done nothing
to cool off the ongoing electronic arms race between cops and speeders. The
number of speeding tickets issued remains steady as the enforcers continue
to upgrade their arsenal.
This prompted us to scrutinize the state of the art
in radar detectors. We focused on remote models, pricier than conventional
one-piece detectors, but with some unbeatable advantages for use in Vettes.
The antenna is concealed in the grille area and the compact control module
mounts discretely in the cockpit, making it nearly theft-proof and the ultimate
in low-profile protection.
