It was an event almost unprecedented in automotive history. In 1978, Chevrolet marked the 25th year of Corvette production. Think of it - for a quarter of a century the Corvette retained not only its name, but its V-8 power, rear-drive, fiberglass body, 2-seat sports

car configuration. By 1978 where were the Cobras, the 2-seat Thunderbirds, even the GTO’s? But here was the Corvette at 25– alive, well, and in many ways better than ever. To celebrate this event, Chevrolet issued two special edition Corvettes.
