driving because Jesse plans to campaign his Corvette strictly as a show car, ironically, the dual-four 283 convertible has never been in better shape for the road. It all started with Performance Verification at a regional NCRS gathering in Joplin, Missouri. Jesse explained that a team of judges checks every working part, including such details as the small accessory bulb behind the cigarette lighter, the horn (to make sure it has the different sound levels), the wiper blades and washers, the sensitivity of the Wonderbar radio, the door locks, the turn signals, even the high beam signal light on the enunciator panel on the dash. If it moves, the judges will check it out.
    
Jesse remembers the driving portion well. First, he was asked to crank the engine in park. Then, he had to turn it off and re-start in neutral. Finally, he was asked to put the car in gear to make sure it wouldn’t start,
