Top: The LCD screen for the CVA-1005 AM/FM radio and multimedia system motors out of the dash when the ignition is turned on and motors back in when the ignition is turned off. A custom panel was made to assure a stock fit of the head unit. The LEDs for the radar detector are flush mounted to the panel under the head unit.

Bottom: Here’s the head unit with the monitor still tucked away in the dash. The screen does not have to be visible for the radio to be played.

There is an Alpine 12-disc CD changer, an Alpine ERA-G100 equalizer to balance the frequencies for optimum sound, and an Alpine navigation system which uses the Global Positioning Satellite System to determine where the car is at any given time. The navigation system also features a CD ROM map containing information on the location of gas stations, hotels, sites of interest, restaurants, stores, banks, etc. The map graphics appear on the CVA-1005
