shock performance at each wheel and adjusts the damping to produce a stable
and flat ride in one of three settings selected by the driver Tour, Sport
or Performance. The word we keep coming up with to discribe the Corvettes
handling and cornering with the F45 is precise. This car is a joy to drive in
any scenario. To top it off, even in the stiffest performance setting we noted
no appreciable body flex or creaking, a characteristic of bygone Corvette generations.
Some genetic
traits still exist, however. We ran the convertible through a brushless car
wash and broke out the towels to wipe the water running through the window seals
and dribbling over the lovely leather seats. Our coupe leaks too, in fact, during
a thunderstorm it poured down the side of the seat, shorted the adjustment control
and actually moved the seat forward, crunching the passengers legs up
against her chin.
All these minor
deficiencies are quickly forgotten with the top down, the 12-disc CD shuffling
through our favorite cruising music and the beaches beckoning. We liked the
Head Up Display (HUD), which projected
