In the five years that have followed that Grand Opening, the NCM has gone through
tumultuous times. Fortunately, under the skillful management of Museum Director
Wendell Strode, the NCM has staged a remarkable come back thanks to the
support of grassroots Corvette enthusiasts and clubs. Today the National
Corvette Museum has 4,500 members, nearly a 100-percent increase in just
12 months.
So it's only fitting that the Fifth Anniversary of
the museum's grand
opening has taken on that same excitement as the Grand Opening.
One of the most popular events during the Grand Opening were the
Corvette Caravans that traveled from all corners of the country to
meet in Bowling Green. For the Fifth Anniversary, the Corvette
Caravans have returned, and according to NCM Events
