Meticulous
attention to detail throughout RM's nitrous system includes top quality solenoids
and nylon-braided OEM lines.

The main focus of the C5 project was to develop a serious nitrous system that
interacted with all of the car's factory safety features. This required custom
microprocessors to properly operate the nitrous system while the vehicle's on-board
electronics are doing their thing. In particular, the on-board ASC (anti skid
control) is managed by "fly-by-wire" technology. Unlike traditional cable and
linkage throttle bodies, the C5 is equipped with an electronic throttle system
that not only relies on electronics for throttle position, but also precisely
adjusts throttle angle position when tire slippage occurs. When the Vette's
computer senses the wheels beginning to break loose, it tells the ASC to back
off the throttle to reduce wheel spin. You don't feel a thing in the pedal.
While the ASC can be shut off manually through a factory-mounted
dash switch, it could be a problem if you forget to do so with the nitrous engaged.
