better
looks, Mid-America has the later year wheel on sale through february 2000 for
$499.95. If you really want to complete the new look, consider adding a new
leather wrapped horn button. Mid-America charges $105 for the '84-85 button
and $72.95 for the '86-89.
We chose a 1987 coupe to make this change. The original
unit was cracked and really showed its age. The entire job was completed in
one hour and that included taking photos for this article. The changeover procedure
is the same for all non-air bag wheels ('84-89). This is a quick way to freshen
up the interior of your pride and joy and you'll feel a lot better every time
you slide behind the wheel.
4.
Remove the two Phillips screws that secure the telescoping pawl to the wheel
hub.
5.
The next step is to remove the pawl by sliding it up through the slot in the
upper part of the steering wheel center. Be careful, you will reuse the parts
for the reinstallation.
3.
Push and turn the horn button plug to the left to release the connector.
