the
Corvette today," said Heinricy. "The car was just great right out of the box.
In the race, I didn't have anything for Peter [Kitchak] when we were running
on our own, so I was looking for traffic to give me a chance. I looked to have
a shot at the end but Peter never gave me an inch."
As Kitchak and Heinricy began to lap the back of the
field, Heinricy was able to close to within 6-tenths of a second, but as soon
as Kitchak would clear the traffic he would quickly build his lead back to between
1.5 and 2 seconds.
"We didn't expect to be in the points lead with one
race left," Kitchak said."To come out leading the points is just great and we'll
be able to drive a different kind of race at the finale. Traffic played a part
in the race today, but it usually worked in my favor. John (Heinricy) was very
strong under braking and really came on strong at the end."
Reese Cox, in the No.98 MTI Motorsports C5-R Corvette,
ran another strong race - finishing 6th from his 4th place qualifying position.
Vancouver winner Scotty B. White in the No.97 C5 Corvette, originally qualified
in the 8th

"We
didn't expect to be in the points lead with one race left," Kitchak said."
