Use a safety rod to secure the hood while you are working. You will be removing
the old prop rod so you want the hood to stay securely open.
LEFT 3. Totally remove the old scissors style prop rod. Save the bolts because
you will use them later.

This is the complete kit from Zip Products. It includes a new gas strut rod,
mounting brackets, hood supports and a detailed instruction sheet. The only
other thing you will need is a few hand tools and a little time.
