Wrong! Watch the Corvette marketplace and you’ll see real history for the taking. You can’t get much more historic than the Corvette Challenge series that ran in 1988 and 1989, yet these are cars are on the market regularly – for a price many can afford.
     A total of 56 Corvettes were ordered for the 1988 series under Challenge Powertrain code B9P. Fifty of those cars were shipped from Bowling Green to Protofab in Wixom, Michigan, to be fitted with competition equipment, including a roll cage, racing seat, safety harness, Desert Drivelines low-restriction exhaust, PBR brake pads and special ducting, a fire extinguisher system and special Corvette Challenge emblems.
