10. The final step in disassembly is to turn the carburetor upside-down and remove the throttle body assembly from the main body. Either six or eight screws hold the throttle body in place (depending on carburetor part number).
11. Remove the four screws that hold the diaphragm cover in place and pull the diaphragm out. Note the cork gasket between two of the bolt holes. This gasket seals the diaphragm housing to the main body. If it’s cut, or has shrunk and hardened, it won’t seal and the secondary throttles won’t open.

12. After all the major castings are cleaned and dried, lay out all the parts needed to reassemble each subassembly. These are the parts necessary to put the float bowl back in working order.
