5. When the needle-and-seat threads are clear of the bowl threads, the entire assembly can be pulled out of the float bowl. It may be necessary to give the assembly a tug because the o-ring that seals it to the float bowl may provide more resistance than you anticipate. Just pull straight up firmly, and you’ll win the battle with the seal.
6. Next remove the four Phillips-head screws that hold the accelerator pump cover in place. Then pry gently to pop the cover from the float bowl. Note that replacement accelerator pump diaphragms are not included with all rebuild kits, so handle it carefully to prevent damage.
