Jim also wanted his '66 to handle
as well as a late model Corvette, so he made major modifications to the suspension
geometry. He offset the rear trailing arms to allow installation of 16-inch
Gotti wheels on 245/50 Goodyear GSC Eagles in the rear (255/50/16 up front).
The front and rear were also lowered and a fiberglass transverse spring installed.
Up front, competition-style upper control arms and a fat anti-sway bar guarantee
this '66 goes where it's pointed.
Inside, the marriage of old and new is so evident and
so complementary. Most obvious are the ZR1 leather seats with the late model
power seat controls cleverly installed on the original '66 console. Mated to
the frame is a four-point roll bar. A Grant wood steering wheel adds to the
harmony of interior colors while a late model a/c system keeps things cool.
